
Eurostat’s latest figures show that construction output in the euro area increased by 3.9% in January compared to the previous month.
The EU’s production, which was seasonally adjusted, also rose by 3.5% during the same period.
Additionally, there was a growth in production compared to January 2022, with the euro area increasing by 0.9% and the EU by 1.4%.
Building construction in the eurozone saw a 4.2% increase month-on-month, while civil engineering was up by 3.0%.
On an annual comparison, building construction was up by 1.4% in the eurozone but civil engineering was down by -1.9%.
Germany, Slovenia, and Poland saw the largest increase in production, while Hungary, Romania, and Belgium experienced the largest drop in production.
