
Major player in digital innovation in the energy sector, Total is increasing its investments in research and development by launching a program dedicated to its refining activities.
Developed in partnership with Tata Consultancy Sevices (TCS), the digital innovation center located in Pune, in the western part of India, will aim to develop breakthrough solutions and technologies.
For 3 years, Total’s teams, in collaboration with the technical and industry experts of TCS, will work on the development of a smart and connected refinery that will enable Total to improve its industrial competitiveness and reaffirm its pioneering position.
Commenting on the establishment of the digital innovation centre, Bernard Pinatel, President of Total’s Refining & Chemicals division, said:
“With the digital innovation centre, we are positioning ourselves as a pioneer working to develop a smart, connected refinery that will allow us to improve our industrial competitiveness. We want to invent the Refinery 4.0.”
